Dallas Update - Freelancing
Now that I’m settled in Dallas I’ve begun freelancing. I’m grateful to all of the connections I’ve made here and for the availability of work. Dallas is a theatre hub, with larger regional theatres like Dallas Children’s and Dallas Theatre Center, to laborforces like Tinc and Zero Productions, to local companies like Lyric Stage, Kids Who Care, and Cry Havoc. Being in a city is exhilarating and I’m enjoying taking advantage of all it has to offer.
Crystal City 1969 - Cara Mia Theatre Company & Zero Productions
I was thrilled to jump in on this project as the Scenic Charge Artist in November 2022. To learn more about this remounted production, check out Cara Mia’s Site. Designed by Kenneth Verdugo, this set is a conglomeration of the elements in this bilingual play. Zero Productions was hired to execute the technical elements of Crystal City. I worked closely with a few other Zero Productions employees and also hired my own overhire team since we were under a quickly approaching deadline.
This production was my first touring production! Not only did it run here, in Dallas at the Latino Cultural Center, but it also just closed in San Antonio at the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center. I traveled to San Antonio to paint the deck two weeks ago. I had so much fun painting this set and love working at Zero Productions. Production photos below by Shutterbruhs, progress photos by me.

Meow Wolf Grapevine - Tinc Productions
I was honored to be hired as a scenic artist, electrician, and loader for this permanent exhibition. I’ve worked a few shifts as a scenic artist and am looking forward to more before this art installation opens in the summer!
Other Overhire Work
I’ve also had the pleasure of working with Lyric Stage and Kids Who Care in Fort Worth, TX!
