Castle Walls for ‘Cinderella’

I recently completed painting the stone walls for the interior of Prince Topher’s castle! Below are images of the final product and the steps I took to execute this treatment.

• Scumble/wet blend of gray-purple and steely-blue

• Sponge on a darker gray

• Lightly spatter on a thinned silver

• Cartoon individual stones freehand using gridlines for guidance

• Add in a light gray wash highlight, using water and a stencil brush

• Fill in the dark gray grout

• Add black drop shadows

• Add a thin, silver highlight line to a select number of stones
